CONGRATULATIONS to our FOUR TXWA 2020 Fall SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS:

Thanks to all of the applicants that submitted for the 2020 TXWA Fall Scholarship this year.  We had 19 applicants this year.  Due to the unprecedented number of applicants this fall and COVID-19, the Philanthropy Team engaged the TXWA Board Members and acquired funds from TXWA reserves to add another fall scholarship.  We want to thank the board members for making this happen!  With that we would like to Congratulate our FOUR 2020 Fall TXWA Scholarship Recipients:

MADELINE CENDRICK:  On behalf of TXWA, we congratulate Maddie as a recipient of the TXWA 2020 Fall Scholarship award.  A sophomore at Baylor University from Arlington, TX. In her freshman year, Maddie earned the honor of a Baylor Distinguished Scholar with very few chosen out of the whole Baylor freshman class.  She is also very involved in dance, acting and choreography.  Maddie is pursuing a degree in Theatre Performance and a minor in Business Marketing.

 

LUKE GRIGGS:  On behalf of TXWA, we congratulate Luke as a recipient of the TXWA 2020 Fall Scholarship award.  Luke graduated from Argyle High School in Argyle, TX.  Luke will be attending Texas Tech University this fall after completing his Associates of Arts degree at McLennan Community College.  He was a member of the McLennan golf team and named golf team captain.

 

TRENT NEVELLE:  On behalf of TXWA, we congratulate Trent as a recipient of the TXWA 2020 Fall Scholarship award.  As a graduate of McKinney Boyd High School. He will be attending University of Texas at Austin in the fall and looking to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He would also like to earn an MBA in the future.  Trent was a co-captain for his Varsity Football team and also was a member of the track and field team. He was also President of his local chapter of Young Men’s Service League that helped throughout the community.  Trent was involved in National Honor Society as well.

 

SYDNEY ROWE:  On behalf of TXWA, we congratulate Sydney as a recipient of the TXWA 2020 Fall Scholarship award.  As a graduate of Coppell Highschool, she will be attending University of Texas at Austin in the fall.  Sydney has great leadership skills and has used them in many ways to mentor others by tutoring and working with special education students. Sydney was a member of the Coppell Varsity Cross Country team as a freshman and continued through high school. She currently is working an internship with the Dallas Morning News.  She hopes to graduate with a degree in Journalism.

GENERAL INFORMATION & GUIDELINES

Applicant must meet the above criteria to qualify for candidacy.

Application Package For Incoming Freshmen Includes :  Cover Letter, Application, TXWA Member Reference Letter, Essay, and SAT or ACT test scores plus High School Transcript.

**NOTE** Incomplete applications WILL NOT be considered.

Application Package For Undergraduate or Graduate Student Includes: Cover Letter, Application, TXWA Member Reference Letter, College Transcript & College Activities.

**NOTE** Incomplete applications WILL NOT be considered.

 The deadline for all paperwork (including reference letters) is mid-night:  July 19, 2020 Midnight

TEXAS STATE WIRELESS ASSOCIATION

 

Scholarship recipients will be contacted and required to provide a copy of a valid Student ID and their respective University Financial Advisors contact information to arrange award payment.

TXWA Scholarship Committee will confirm selected recipients are in attendance as a full-time student at an accredited Texas University/College and academically eligible to release payment. TXWA will pay the awarded amount by August 14th, 2020.  Payment will be made directly to the College/University through coordination with the recipients Financial Advisor.
