The 2017 TXWA Charity Social and Golf Tournament will benefit the Houston area impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Proceeds from the event as well as additional contributions will go to two charities:
- HURRICANE HARVEY RELIEF FUND– Mayor Sylvester Turner and County Judge Ed Emmett have established the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund that will accept tax-deductible flood relief donations for victims affected by the recent floods. The fund will be housed at the Greater Houston Community Foundation, a public charity. https://ghcf.org/hurricane-relief/
- OPERATION AIRDROP– OAD’s primary focus is the harder to reach communities along the Texas Gulf Coast. Texas Baptist Men, the Salvation Army, the military and other groups are working in partnership with Operation Airdrop, and will be helping with receiving and distributing goods brought in by the pilots to hard-hit areas across the region. Each Operation Airdrop pilot and plane is a volunteer, but every trip to the Gulf costs $400 (or more) in aviation fuel. 100% of these funds goes to buying fuel to keep the planes of OAD in the air. – https://www.operation-airdrop.com/

Please note that, contributions or gifts to TXWA are not tax deductible as charitable contributions for Federal income tax purposes, they may be tax deductible under other provisions of the Internal Revenue Code.
